I started my search in Proquest with "helping the homeless" where I discovered an interesting phrase "supportive housing" which ultimately led me to eldercare robotics in Japan. I hope I don't have any sci-fi nightmares tonight. Maine Newstand was the next stop with a repeat of "helping the homeless" resulting in articles about housing for homeless in Portland and Waterville. The save the search function seemed to work but not the alert button.
The obituary search yielded results but none of my family members I expected to see. Their deaths ocurred since 2000 and were originally published in 3 of the 5 named newspapers. I did find out about a WWW II naval ship with my Dad's family name. I don't think he ever knew about it.
Maine Memory Network is a wonderful resource. I have attended their informative introductory seminar and wish I had more time for followup. Windows on Maine is new to me. I am glad to see the video series preserved here as an accessible educational/cultural resource.
I wish I had a recent experience of sharing about Marvel, it seems that most patrons are busy with reading or checking their email or facebook page. On the other hand, after a quick look at about a dozen other MARVELous blogs I see a lot of creativity and am trying to figure out a way to find more time to jazz up my my own presentation.
